Tamboti Lodge is a private, self catering, bush lodge, rested atop a serene koppie, in the world renowned Madikwe Game Reserve. Surrounded by lush Tamboti and Maroela trees, the lodge is situated in the reserve’s northwest corner, slightly west of the striking, rocky Inselbergs. The Dwarsberg mountain range forms the southern boundary of the reserve and to the east is the Marico river.

Access

To reach the lodge, follow the R49 toward the Kopfontein border post, turning right just before the Botswana border. Enter Madikwe at Tau Gate, from which a short, well-maintained road leads directly to the Lodge. The distance from the gate is approximately 1.5km

Lodge Living

The Lodge looks south over the Pokojwe (Jackal) plains. A fantastic waterhole draws large numbers of game including Wildebeest, Zebra, Hartebeest, Impala, Elephant and Buffalo, summer and winter. Birders will not be disappointed by the rich and diverse bird species, not only in the Reserve but also in the camp.

Madikwe is in the heart of the Marico Bushveld and is also home to Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Hyaena and many other smaller predators. The highest densities of game are found in our area because of the incredible natural plains found on our doorstep.

We are extremely conscious about the natural environment we inhabit. Water is supplied from our borehole, and we also have piped water from the Marico River. The Lodge is primarily powered by our industrial solar plant. As back-up, we do make use of a small amount of Eskom power and in extreme situations our generator will provide power to the entire camp.
